Who’s going to win Strictly 2024? Latest odds reveal final could face ‘huge upset’

The Strictly Come Dancing final is upon us and it’s not long till a new champion is crowned.

The 2024 series is wrapping up this weekend, with four celebrities set to grace the ballroom floor one last time in a bid for the Glitterball Trophy.

The final four pairs are comedian Chris McCausland and his partner Dianne Buswell, former Love Island star Tasha Ghouri and Aljaz Skorjanec, Miranda actress Sarah Hadland and Vito Coppola, and JLS member JB Gill and Lauren Oakley.

They’ll each deliver three performances for the judges’ and audience’s approval, with the winner taking home the prize.

The judges themselves will pick one of their routines, they’ll choose their favourite of the series, and the third will be the show dance.

But who will emerge victorious?

Chris McCausland is still leading the way as the overwhelming favourite heading into the final, despite admitting he feels ‘worn down’.

The comic, who has made history as Strictly’s first ever blind contestant, has captured the hearts of fans up and down the country.

Ladbrokes still have him in the lead with odds of 1/20, and he appears a shoe-in to get the job done after ‘dominating’ betting since the beginning of the series.

The bookies have JB Gill following him at 14/1, making him the most likely finalist to cause an upset.

Sarah Hadland is 25/1 to take home the trophy, which Tasha Ghouri placed as the outsider at 33/1.

Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: ‘One name has completely dominated the betting from Week One, and Chris will head into this weekend’s final as one of shortest-priced contestants we’ve ever seen.

‘If anyone if to cause an upset, the odds suggest it’ll be JB.’

Last week, FreeBets.com had Chris at 1/9 to make history by winning Strictly as its first blind contestant.

Chris has opened up about how despite viewers throwing their support behind him, he’s had to deal with some trolling throughout the series.

‘For me with this there are two types of negativity. There are people who believe this is purely a dance competition and get angry when anybody survives a week above somebody, they think is better,’ he told Metro.

He pointed out that Pete Wicks ‘suffered’ with that too, and insisted Tash should be the one taking home the Glitterball Trophy, despite being the outsider.

‘I think Pete has suffered a bit of that and so have I but if it was purely a dance competition give it to Tasha at the beginning – she’s phenomenal,’ he added.

As well as Pete, other stars missing out on the final are Montell Douglas, Jamie Borthwick, Wynne Evans, Shayne Ward, Sam Quek, Dr Punam Krishan, Paul Merson, Nick Knowles, Toyah Willcox and Tom Dean.

The Strictly Come Dancing final airs live on BBC One on Saturday, December 14, at 6pm.
